Brady overload

I'm a big fan of the Patriots, always have been. But even I'm getting sick of the coverage of Tom Brady. Click on any sports website, or even news website, and you'll be treated to minute-by-minute accounts of his every move. He practiced today... in the light rain! He must be fine then. Give me a break down of every snap and what his knee looked like, please! I haven't seen this many leg updates since Barbaro. Let it go people, we'll see what things look like in September. In the mean time there are more than 1600 other players currently in the league. Let's hear about any of them.

  1. So is he going to be the starter or will he actually have to compete for it? You know until an official announcement is made, the media is going to be all over this QB controversy.

Oh, and by the way, "tuck rule" my ass. It was a FUMBLE! :-)

  2. From the title, I thought you were going to reveal that you'd watched one too many Brady Bunch episodes. Or even (gasp of horror) A Very Brady Christmas.

  3. Gee, that sounds just awful, PLS. Next thing you're going to tell me is that those Superbowl rings really chafe, and they never go with your outfit..

  4. Oh Mad Hatter, I would deride your comments but if you are indeed a Raiders fan, you've suffered more than enough already.

Ink, not all of us share an unhealthy obsession with Bravo. After we clean up from Dr. No's intervention we'll just walk the party over to your place.

DGT, I think the problem is wearing three huge rings all at once. One is a bit gaudy, but three? I don't have enough other bling to pull it off unless I make earings out of the world series rings and put the NBA championship one on a necklace. Not every team is nice enough to allow its fans from having to face this issue by losing four Super Bowls in one decade like your boys.

  5. Nope, not a Raiders fan. I just love to hate the Patriots, just like I love to hate the Yankees. :-)

So, PLS and DGT, what do you think about having a bloggers' football (NFL) pool once the season starts? I mean, we've already started the trash talking.... Something like a pick 'em game rather than real fantasy football is more my speed, but I could probably be talked into fantasy. Any interest?

  6. Wr're in. I think a pick 'em is more my speed. I don't need to get fired just yet because I'm spending all my time studying stats and projections. I'm sure we can rope in a few more, like CPP and JuniorProf.

  7. Great...pick 'em it is! Do you have a particular one you like? Our lab plays the Yahoo one and it's very easy to set up and use. And I bet we can get Chall and maybe TomJoe too.

  8. I've used the Yahoo one and it seems to work well. We should post a call for participants once the season gets a bit closer.

  9. LOL, for days on end this year, about 37% of all news media coverage in Vancouver focused on Roberto Luongo's groin. On the sports channels it approached 89%.

  10. This post is back far enough that I doubt many of your followers will find it. As innocent as it may have seemed, this was the post that revealed your identity. It feels kind of weird to know who you are and I sort of wish I didn't and yes your website is very cool. As soon as I found it, everything made sense. No worries, you're not going to get outed like DamnGoodTechnican (I think that's who it was). Anyhow, just writing to say that your blog is fantastic, I check it far too often, and that my wife now thinks I'm crazy. When I read to her some of the stories she says, "Oh is that from the blog of your friend on the internet". Keep up the good work and that totally sucks about your latest grant.
